One of the things I enjoy most about being a lifestyle photographer is that capturing emotion and the true personalities of the people I photograph are the main inspiration behind what I do. While I do try to get at least one or two formal groupings of family members for Christmas cards and such, I encourage families to play and interact with one another instead of spending the majority of our time in structured poses.

Since I am a mother, I think of the most precious images I have of my own daughter when I do a session. I have found that the images that pull most at the heartstrings are the unguarded ones - the images where the photographer has successfully faded into the background, and the family forgets they're there. That's when the good stuff happens.

And the Lazzaro family was so much fun to photograph! We spent a warm afternoon playing at Jordan Valley Park, splashing around in the fountains and running after these sweet babies. Cousins Atticus and Titus are close in age, and you can tell that they are so loved by their family. A multi-generational shoot like this is truly special.  It was an honor to photograph this beautiful family.
